Strines History Project

Strines Print Works Sketch
Strines history room

The millponds and the derelict area around the entrance have been renovated using SRG funds. The cobbled area has been reinstated and the one remaining stone entrance lodge restored. Part of this is now a history room open at weekends with material illustrating Strines history, particularly that of the printworks and the Strines Journal.

An oak clocktower has also been built nearby using public donations to house the original works clock which has been restored using Heritage Lottery Funding. The project is described on an information board and in the history room.

All these facilities are owned on behalf of Strines residents by the SRG for the permanent enjoyment of the local and wider community.
